In Inuit mythology, the supreme spirit is called Silla. The primordial element of all that exists and the breath of life, Silla is the very essence of all movement. She is the masculine deity of the sky, the wind, and time. The Silla sculpture is a tribute to this unrepresented deity. She is the ether, the soul, creation in motion. By working with the different aspects of ice, we wanted to represent this invisible whole, this perpetual motion frozen for a time by the grace of nature.
